Hi I'm Mat

Karla first became aware of Matt before she could have placed a face to the name: Matt Stewart. You see, Matt had a doormat outside of his off-campus apartment at Yale that said "Hi I'm Mat." The enjoyment of this mat, shared by its owner and a Canadian stranger who occasionally passed it, was an early indication of the compatibility between Matt and Karla.
